Chemical Health Risk Assessment

Chemical Health Risk Assessment (CHRA)

Under the Occupational Safety and Health (Use and Standards of Exposure of Chemicals Hazardous to Health) Regulations 2000, it is a mandatory requirement for all companies involved in the use (‘use’ means production, processing, handling, storage, transport, disposal, and treatment) of chemicals hazardous to health to make a written assessment of the risks created by the chemicals to the health (CHRA or Chemical Health Risk Assessment) of employees.

The Chemical Health Risk Assessment (CHRA) is an assessment that must be conducted by the employer arising from the use, handling, storage, or transportation of chemicals hazardous to health at their workplace, as required by the Occupational Safety and Health Regulation 2000.
