Chemical Health Risk Assessment (CHRA)

Under the Occupational Safety and Health (Use and Standards of Exposure of Chemicals Hazardous to Health) Regulations 2000, it is a mandatory requirement for all companies involve in the use (‘use’ means production, processing, handling, storage, transport, disposal and treatment) of chemicals hazardous to health to make a written assessment of the risks created by the chemicals to the health (CHRA or Chemical Health Risk Assessment) of the employees.

The Chemical Health Risk Assessment (CHRA) is an assessment that has to be conducted by the employer arising from the use, handling, storage or transportation of chemicals hazardous to health at their workplace as required by Occupational Safety and Health (Use and Standard of Exposure of Chemicals Hazardous to Health) Regulation 2000.
